Does electrolysis hurt?
You'll feel a small warmth or pinch at each follicle. Sensitivity depends on the area and on the person. For delicate areas I offer numbing cream, and most clients get through the session comfortably.
What's the difference between electrolysis and laser?
Laser reduces hair, but it needs contrast between dark hair and light skin, and it doesn't work on grey, blonde, or red hair. Electrolysis destroys each follicle one by one with a minimal current and is the only method recognized as permanent hair removal for any hair and skin type. It's also ideal for finishing off the hair that laser leaves behind.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the area, hair density, and hormonal factors. Hair grows in cycles, so each follicle has to be treated while it's active. As a guide: small facial areas usually need between 8 and 15 short sessions spread over several months. At your first consultation I'll give you a realistic estimate for your case.
Is it safe? Are there any contraindications?
It's a method that's been used for over a century, with sterile single-use equipment. It isn't recommended with a pacemaker, during pregnancy, or with certain skin conditions in the area. Before we start, we'll go over your case together — the consultation is free.
How do I prepare for the session?
Let the hair grow to about 2–3 mm (don't pluck or bleach it in the weeks before; trimming or shaving is fine up to a few days beforehand). Avoid intense sun on the area and come with clean skin, without creams.
What aftercare is needed?
For 48 hours: no sun, sauna, pool, or makeup on the area, and don't pick at any small crusts that appear — they're a normal part of healing. I'll give you a simple aftercare routine with a soothing product after every session.
Does it work on hormonal hair growth (hirsutism)?
Yes. Hair caused by hormonal changes (hirsutism, PCOS, menopause) doesn't respond well to laser, which can even wake up dormant follicles. Electrolysis treats each follicle individually and is the only effective method in these cases too. I work with this kind of hair with extra care and complete discretion.
Is electrolysis for men too?
Absolutely. More and more men are permanently removing hair along the beard line on the neck, between the brows, on the shoulders, or on the back. It's a one-time investment with a result that lasts — no more razors or wax every week.
